Craving for pleasure is bondage. Bondage brings only misery. It brings about a thousand variations of moods, emotions and sensations throwing you off balance every now and then.

This life time I have a GURU. Its a great opportunity. For the last few months I was thinking about how to make good use of this brilliant chance of completely annihilating all Vasana and experience the HIGHEST.

The mind keeps on getting lost. It keeps slipping into slumber and in a few moments it starts indulging in whatever it thinks as pleasurable. Gently Getting it again and again back to the present moment is abhyasa. I have been programing myself to do this. I have also made up, what you can call a reminder to get my mind back on track.

This is something very personal but I thought I should share it with all of you. I think there is not a proper balance between "shravan" (listening) and "manana" (remembering it again and again till your mind becomes "no mind" . Mana - mind, na- no).

So I wanted to put all the great words of wisdom that I have heard from Guruji, in one small capsule that would moment to moment serve as a super effective reminder and I would be able to effortlessly free my mind from any meaningless endeavors it has embarked upon.

And you know what?..its working fine.

Here it is "Dropping all RESISTANCE, KEENLY and PLAYFULLY, OBSERVE the IMPERMANENT nature of THOUGHTS, EMOTIONS and SENSATIONS, with a strong sense of NON-IDENTIFICATION."

I would give a brief explanation of the particular choice of words in my next post....till then I would like to know what you think about this.

Please explain doing the 'with a strong sense of non identification ' part .... does it mean like watching something without participating in it .... like watching the clouds or a sunset ????

I simply love all your posts... simple yet deep!It takes me to the level of experience like the part where you said of 'shravan' and 'manana'!
earlier I felt you should post more often now i feel its better this way cause i'll absorb this fully.. so i guess that takes care of the impermanence part! :)
Am Grateful for bringing such sacred knowledge in access.Great insights into 'evolutionary' thinking.

A humble attempt to explain the line -

THOUGHTS, EMOTIONS and SENSATIONS keep on arising and changing all the time which means they are IMPERMANENT in nature. When we become a sakshi to this then we can OBSERVE them with a sense of NON-IDENTIFICATION means I do not identify any of the above fluctuations as mine but see it all as a happening. I am either attracted or resistive about the THOUGHTS, EMOTIONS and SENSATIONS that arise. KEENLY(Carefully with awareness) observing this and PLAYFULLY(understanding that the whole existence as a play/dream) dropping(Disconnecting) the attraction/resistance to the fluctuations is what will take me beyond all this.

Hi bhaiya,Implementing these days what you have told ,it really works
one more thing come out is that what we are observing is what we are creating .Its not a situation ,person or thing creating pain but we are the ones who is creating it.

Interesting..I am also going thru a similar phase. Attended few sessions with Mikey and it made me "see" how easy it is to loose my mind. I can't even enjoy a good 6min song without thoughts coming and taking me away.So I came up with this.. that I will be with "Om Namah Shivayae"(= Guru Dev) for as long as possible.Just keeping that in mind .If I have to apply my mind on to something I do that but again come back. I got this from one knowledge sheet of Guru ji where he tells that mind is like a monkey. and how a saint gave a idea that to keep a monkey busy is by making a it go up and down a pole.
The important thing here is the moment you realize that you have staryed, drop ever thing and come back...again and again and again. What can be more beautiful than my Guru. Don't know if its right or wrong ...but atleast it makes sense to me that I am not wasting my energy on some useless thought.
May be thats what they say is "Simaran" like that song "Saans Saans mein Simran kar key, baar baar bali jaoon"
    What do u Say???

You know bhaiya...I have been giving tips to some of my younger CA aspirant friends..

Dert is one thinh dat i keep telling dem.."don't fall into the trap of the mind..the mind might tell u "u are stressed, u cant make it, wats the point of pursuing all dis...just give up"..

dats the nature of the mind...so whenever the mind does all its tricks, u do urs...just observe it and dont identify urself with it..watch it and drop it..and den just feel the Guru inside u..

    and dat works...i believe..
