This is "jealousy". I do not like it (why?). I do not want to feel this way. This is what is life all about. Either I am craving or resisting.I really wonder, is feeling unpleasant the problem or not wanting to feel unpleasant the real problem.

If I go futher may be I can even question the basic assumption that a particular sensation that I experience is either pleasant or unpleasant. Why do I call a particular sensation pleasant and some other sensation as unpleasant? Why do I crave for a particular type of sensations and resist certain other types of sensations? Is it possible to go beyond this fundamental likes and dislikes? Is there something called a pleasant sensation or is it just my craving that makes it pleasant?

Questioning the basic assumptions can help us go beyond the duality, beyond the opposites.
I think so.do you?

ur posts act like pebbles thrown in water (my ever disturbed mind)... first they create a stir and then, i dont know how, silence the mind. i dont know how you do it, but please keep doing it. :)

Your blog is enlightening - please keep it going.

I do think that questioning can bring us out of old patterns. But after a while, questioning can stop us from going beyond the intellect. Unceasing observation of "what is" takes us to a very silent place. maybe? Of course, the question comes up - what does "observation" really mean?

I would love to hear Guruji speak on this - or you too could throw some light on this subject.

    JGD Bhaiya...Nicely written

IMHO - most of the times we REACT to A particular event or person in a set way (pattern)...that's where HE says stop being a machine and reacting without awareness for the same thing, in the same old way, again and again...

It has happened with me many times recently...when I feel that a particular thing is making me jealous or might make me feel upset me, I CHOOSE to act in a totally different way than bfore...in a more positive, adventurous, mature way...and really the event/person does not have the same effect..I've found that it requires lot of energy to do that...and to see something positive, some plan into the event
    changes the sensations too..

You nailed it dear bhaiya :-)

You know, everytime I read you most beautiful posts, my heart beats faster at the simplicity of the knowledge and like I want to comment that instant and tell you, yes yes yes, I am soo there with you

And, yes I agree questioning the most basic of assumptions, concepts, "teachings" can very easily direct us to the peace. Within

My personal experience is that unless until one contemplates the true meaning of these words, they don't mean any thing, except an intellectual exercise, in which one either agree or disagree....

totally agree. I like this:- "Why do I call a particular sensation pleasant and some other sensation as unpleasant?" :)

Well I ate Karela with all awareness and facing the unpleasantness on 22nd jan, my birthday, in Ashram. So here by I announce that my aversion for karela is gone! hahah!:)
